Characteristics of Rubber Foaming Materials


  Rubber foaming materials are divided into two categories: closed-hole and open-hole. The inner pores of the closed-hole foam materials are separated from the wall membrane of the immersion hole and not connected with each other. And the bubble hole is an independent structure, mainly being small hole shapes or tiny holes. The internal bubbles of the drilling foam materials communicate with each other and are connected with the outer skin. And the bubble hole is an independent structure, mainly being large holes or thick holes.

  According to the different characteristics of the materials, there mainly are the following aspects:

  1.Temperature Resistance

  The excellent heat resistance and weather resistance of foaming materials can be used in a large temperature range of -60 to +150 degrees Celsius. At the same time, they also have excellent properties such as high-temperature resistance, flame retardancy, oil resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance and so on, which allow them having a special position in various synthetic rubbers. They can be used as buffer materials with features of anti-seismic, shock absorption, weather resistance, acid and alkali resistance, flame retardant in automobile, household appliances, mechanical products, and as supporting materials in the internal of the ships, trains, packaging and air conditioning.

  2.Insulation Characteristic

  Because the foaming materials contain a large amount of air or other gases, which is not conducive to circulation, especially the closed-hole that has been completely separated by independent bubble holes to reduce the thermal conductivity obviously, this material has extremely low thermal conductivity. In addition, it has high elasticity and good rebound elasticity. Thus, it becomes an ideal thermal insulation material for central air conditioning pipelines, buildings, chemical pipelines, road construction and the like.

  3.Sound Absorption

  As is known to all, sound waves appear in the form of vibrations in the air. When sound waves encounter the porous materials, the vibrations are transmitted to the interior and rub against the complex bubble holes in the interior, blocking and energy attenuation. Therefore, sound waves will weaken, showing a material effect on sound wave absorption. Open-hole foaming material is a new type of sound absorbing thanks to its unique characteristics and the softness, flame retardancy and aging resistance of other materials.

  4.Low Water Absorption

  For closed-hole foam materials, each bubble hole, coupled with the hydrophobic rubber or plastic materials selected, can prevent moisture infiltration and become ideal sealing materials.

  5.Flame Retardancy

  The foaming materials are processed with excellent flame retardancy, which can be used in fields with high fire prevention requirements.

  6.Buffer Characteristic

  Rubber is called high-elasticity material. And foaming rubber maintains moderate rebound characteristics after being processed into material, which is very suitable as buffer material or shock-proof material.
